UIGEA is Ineffective
Having just passed the year mark for the Unlawful
Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, many find that the law is just as
ineffective as experts predicted it would be. Some said that there
would be too much confusion with the law, others said that it would
not work – still others held out hope that all online slots playing
and gambling would cease.
However, many people aren’t even aware that a law was passed making
online slots and gambling illegal as there does not seem to be a
whole lot of change on the gambling front. Online gambling is not
even banned, just the paying of it was. Therefore, if you can find a
company outside the US you can easily continue to gamble, and many
online sites will tell you just where you can go for that.
The only thing that seems to have actually have happened is that
they are not able to keep track of the online gambling companies as
many of them have moved overseas, and now you have no way of knowing
who controls the money. The big companies that people were familiar
with like SportingBet and 888 Holdings left the market and lost tons
of money in the process – but that didn’t stop people from playing
the online slots either.
The banks are supposed to be blocking online slots and gambling
transactions, but since they just got the rules and regulations on
that requirement, it has not really been happening. It may be more
difficult to play that favorite online slots game, or hook up with a
poker game – but you can still do it. All it has done is make those
legal companies back off and make room for the less than desirable
ones to take advantage of US citizens.
