No UK Super Casino
After months upon months of wondering if the UK
was going to forge ahead with the super casino or if they were going
to eliminate it – the UK Government officially announced that they
are not going to build it. The slots casino has been officially
scrapped, but they did say that they were going to proceed with the
sixteen regional casinos.
Those areas that competed to host the slots super casino will be
part of a regeneration plan instead. The government thinks that
there are better alternatives to assisting those areas instead of
bringing in a super casino to one of them.
The House of Lords had a negative vote regarding the super casino,
and it has become apparent to the UK government that the idea of
revitalizing one area with the slots casino is not a good idea. They
think that instead of going that route, they should work towards
building them another way.
They are going to continue with the regional casinos however, and
each will hold 150 slots which will give jackpots up to GBP 4,000.
They will be located in Great Yarmouth, Hull, Keynes, Leeds, Milton,
Newham and Southampton.
