SunRay Winner
Steve Crawford is one lucky and happy man.
Practically a Farmington native, having lived there the majority of
his life and graduated from Farmington High School, he never
expected something this exciting would ever happen to him. Crawford
was playing at the SunRay Park and Casino when he hit the
progressive slots jackpot for $215,949.
Crawford is a district manager of an oil and gas servicing company
and says that he is not going to go crazy with the money. Instead he
is saving it for his retirement. Crawford, 54, says that when he
retires he would like to move to Las Vegas to be closer to his
daughter and two grandchildren with his slots win.
He says that he usually likes to play the games, not the slots, so
this was a particularly lucky day for him. He was playing the slots
on a whim and put $100 in the progressive slots game and spun the
numbers around 10 times. That is when he hit the jackpot.
He says the max bet is $2 and had played about $20 when he
drastically increased his bank roll. SunRay Park has been a popular
destination for many local residents and visitors alike since it
opened in July 1999. It has 509 slots as well as live thoroughbred
and quarter horse racing throughout the year.
