Ontario Residents
Believe in Luck
Scarily enough, in this day and age, people still
believe in luck when it comes to the slots. Those in Ontario are
seemingly even more gullible than the rest of us, with 43% of them
believing that they are going to retire on gambling winnings.
The adults in Ontario believe that either through the luck of the
lotto, roulette or slots that they will someday win the big one and
be able to retire early. The Responsible Gaming Council found that
residents believe at least one gambling myth, and this has added to
an already increasing number of people addicted to slots and
gambling.
It is Problem Gambling Prevention Month and members of the
Responsible Gaming Council are trying to make residents aware of the
truth of the situation. They are asking people to take a gambling
myth quiz so that they can see the difference between what is a myth
and was is the truth of the situation.
They have found that 11% think that gambling is a good way to get
rich, and that 10.3% think that the idea that gamblers usually lose
is a myth. More than 7% thought that gambling was a great way to
make money. The council says that it is these thoughts exactly that
have added to the number of slots and gambling addicts in Ontario.
