Woman Fights for
Higher Slots Payout
An Atlantic County woman is suing Harrah’s
Atlantic City saying that they did not give her the slots win that
she had actually won. She claims that they are trying to give her a
lower amount and she is taking them to court over it. She is suing
for the full amount of the slots jackpot that she feels she won as
well as attorney’s fees and court costs.
Angela Domino, 77, says that she was playing the nickel slot
progressive jackpot machine at Harrah’s Atlantic City last month.
She had just put her nickel in the Spin Poker slots game when she
hit the jackpot for $86,000. She says that as she put her nickel in
the slots game at 8:26 pm she noticed what the jackpot said and
played accordingly.
The slots attendant came over and congratulated her on winning.
According to the jackpot meter, she had won. However, a Harrah’s
representative came over and told her that she had won $20,035.31.
They told her that she had won just after someone else had, and that
they had won the bigger amount. When the slots game reset, she won
also, but a smaller amount.
She says she has been playing the slots for more than 11 years and
she knows when she has won a game. She is suing for the full amount
of the jackpot as she says that when she played her nickel she was
playing for a larger amount and that is the amount that should be
paid to her. The casino says that she won, just not what she thought
she had.
