Slots Gamblers
Ripped Off
The Pennsylvania State Police have reported that
four slots players had their money stolen over the weekend. Between
Friday and Sunday the police say they had more reports of slots
thefts than they had in the whole previous month.
Four slots players at the Philadelphia Park Casino lost their money
when it was deliberately taken by other individuals. Two of them
lost it from the slots themselves, one had their ticket taken, and
one was the victim of a personal robbery.
Two of the thefts came from people who left their slots unattended
and someone else came and took their credits. They cashed out their
slots and left. One was a $50 credit voucher that was cashed in on
Sunday when the woman left her seat briefly. The other was a $39
credit that was cashed out of a man’s slots – police identified the
suspect and he repaid the man.
Police reiterated how important it is to be aware of your
surroundings at all times, and to cash out your slots before you
move away from the machine. They said that if you can leave your
purse at home, it is best that you do that, and take precautions to
be safe.
The other two slots robberies were an elderly woman and a man. The
first was a 74 year old woman from Philadelphia who was playing the
slots when a 60 year old Trenton man started talking to her. She
claims he took her $50 bill that was hanging out of the slots after
distracting her. The last one was a Trenton man who says that a
woman picked up his $20 voucher from the floor after he dropped it.
