Slot Review: Computer Rage
There’s
nothing like the evils of technology to make normally sane people go
right over the edge and into the deep end! Well, that and the
inanity of working in a corporate office environment! Most people in
their twenties and thirties are familiar with the latter-day comedy
classic “Office Space,” starring a young Jennifer Anniston (from the
90s sitcom “Friends,” and endless romantic comedies) as the
girlfriend of a dorky nebbish who pushes paperwork behind a desk at
his job all day, and has to cope with an overbearing, annoying boss
and the endless red tape of bureaucracy. It’s clear that the
Computer Rage online slot was a tribute to the humor of that film.
This Cryptologic-designed internet casino game title is a
laugh-out-loud, extremely replayable poker machine romp through life
in a cubicle, which is no party. Somehow, however, this game is a
LOT of fun!
Meet Rita, the protagonist of the story told in this online slot.
You’ll be introduced through a cute opening animation. She is just
trying to get through her day at work at the office without too much
trouble from the obnoxious boss that is the bane of her whole
existence. You’ll meet him on the reels as the wild symbol! Help
Rita with her work, spinning images of different office images and
supplies, to win big and get her out for the day!
Computer Rage is a five-reel, twenty-five payline online slot
machine game. Coin values start at a low value of just one cent, and
top out at five dollars. Max coins is twenty-five, or one coin per
payline. That makes the highest per-spin wager one of one hundred
twenty-five dollars. The jackpot of five thousand coins makes the
top prize for this game a very respectable twenty-five thousand
dollars. There is a free practice mode for players who prefer to
test out the wares before they plunk down their bets.
Such symbols as a pretty receptionist, a stapler, an inbox piled
with paperwork, and an evil-looking computer are featured on the
reels, along with some funky-looking letters and numbers. The icons
are another clear homage to “Office Space” – who can forget the poor
nerd who is so in love with his special stapler, or the guy taking
the office equipment out back and smashing it after he is fired from
his dead-end job? The background is a busy office, complete with a
clock, a desk, and several stacks of paperwork. The symbol of the
Boss is wild, and can stand in for any other symbol on the reels in
a winning combination with the exception of the scatter symbol. He
also multiplies the payout of whatever combination he completes,
with a multiplier that varies. Computer Rage also features scatter
symbols and free spins to keep the action moving along.
Cryptologic’s excellent autospin feature is enabled, which plays the
game for you up to twenty-five times so that you don’t get a sore
clicker finger! It’s doubtful that you will get bored of this
excellent online slot with so many different features to keep you
entertained.
