Slot Review: Zone of the Zombies
Our bias is
clear, here: we are all big fans of Halloween. The candy, the masks,
the creepy movies on TV, the freaky online slots… suffice it to say,
we kick the season off early here at SlotsData. We’re getting back
to the classics with Zone of the Zombies, a re-review of the
phenomenal Cryptologic Frightmare punter that remains one of our
all-time favorites. Fans of the Resident Evil video games and movies
or George Romero’s exceptional Night of the Living Dead series will
get a kick out of this blood n’ guts slot title, which is both
fantastically, freakishly fun and quite lucrative!
Zone of the Zombies is a five-reel, twenty-five payline online slot.
Coin values start at just one penny and range upwards to five
dollars, with max coins of twenty-five (one per payline) making the
highest per-spin wager one of one hundred twenty-five dollars. The
standalone jackpot is six thousand coins (thirty thousand bucks!),
which is sweet as candy all by itself. The big-ticket attraction
here, however, is Cryptologic’s Frightmare progressive jackpot,
which is shared between all three of the Frightmare titles.
Blood-splattered weapons and body parts are scattered across the
reels – nail-studded baseball bats, dangling eyeballs, sharp knives…
everything one needs for kicking some zombie tail, in other words.
There are wilds, scatters, and bonuses. Our favorite aspect of Zone
of the Zombies, however, is the video-game-esque bonus round in
which we get to shoot at brain-eaters for extra cash! It’s the
closest we’ve ever gotten to getting paid for playing video games,
and we loved every minute of it!
