New
Cryptologic/Paramount Deal!
Movie buffs the world over are sure to be
rejoicing at the news that online casino software company
Cryptologic has inked an exclusive deal with the digital subsidiary
of Hollywood film studio Paramount to bring characters from their
best-loved movies to the small(er) screen, in the form of online
slot games! Cryptologic may have taken a blow with the loss of
exclusive rights to Spiderman and his friends, but this new deal is
sure to be one that will make the World Wide Web’s second-largest
internet slot machine provider plenty of money and new fans. Tom
Hank’s famous role, Forrest Gump, will be the first offering to come
from the joint partnership. Slots based on Beowulf and Ferris
Bueller will be forthcoming.
Last month, it was reported that rival software company Playtech had
signed a deal with Marvel Comics to create slot machine titles based
off these action hero characters. Until that point, Cryptologic has
retained exclusive rights to the Marvel heroes. Their contract
expires next year, and industry experts predict that Cryptologic
will not renew the deal. Paramount titles will play an important
role in re-establishing Cryptologic’s dominance within the field,
and reinvigorating the company’s stable of slot offerings should the
Marvel slots be lost to them. Another avenue that recently opened up
for Cryptologic is superhero slots based off the immortal characters
from DC Comics – Cryptologic signed a partnership agreement with
that firm recently as well.
With or without Marvel, Cryptologic will undoubtedly continue to
dominate the world of branded online gambling. It seems that Batman
and Forrest Gump will be the headliners of Cryptologic’s slot empire
instead of Spiderman, but we predict that Cryptologic will continue
to attract the same fans that it always has!
