Slot Review: The
High Life
Of the slot machine themes that we see frequently
in our playing time at SlotsData.com, the theme of “the high life”
is one of the more common. Because every online slot player’s dream
is to become insanely wealthy and to fund an opulent lifestyle,
games centering around life in the lap of luxury tend to be pretty
popular indeed. Of all the offerings in the “fame and riches” oeuvre
that we have experienced, The High Life doesn’t exactly stand out as
one of the luminaries. Unexceptional graphics are a decidedly “low
life” jackpot are issues that we personally saw with this game.
The High Life is a five-reel, five-payline online slot machine game
by Microgaming. Coin values start at one cent and range upwards to
two dollars, with max coins set at one hundred. A top per-spin wager
of two hundred dollars is nothing short of ludicrous, given that the
jackpot is a mere fifteen hundred coins (three thousand dollars). We
would not bet on a game that requires a full fifteenth of the
jackpot to play! It’s as if Microgaming wants to require “high life”
bets to attract whales, but doesn’t want to pay out accordingly.
Letters and numbers make up the majority of the symbols on the
reels. You will also see items suggesting an opulent lifestyle – a
yacht cruising the ocean, a sports car at sunset, and a box of Cuban
cigars. The graphics are nothing special, however. The mansion is
the wild symbol, and the aforementioned sports car is the scatter
symbol, which can lead to some free spins.
