Slot Review: Great
Blue
So many online slots have an aquatic theme,
because it seems that us land-dwellers just cannot get enough of the
marvels of the deep, blue sea. We play plenty of slot games having
to do with life beneath the deep, ranging from pokies themed around
fish life to those about sunken ships, mermaids, scuba diving, and
sharks. Great Blue is something less than “great,” an ocean-themed
slot that falls somewhere on the lower mid-level lineup of similar
titles. Big money is the primary attraction to this slot game, as
opposed to graphical excellence or any other major redeeming factor
of the slot game itself.
Great Blue is a five-reel, twenty-five payline online slot game by
Playtech. Coin values start at one cent and range upwards to five
dollars, which means that you can play this title as a penny slot of
you so wish. Max coins is two hundred fifty, or ten coins per line.
That makes the highest per-spin wager one of twelve hundred fifty
dollars… a simply massive bet. It is rare that we see a game that
caters so thoroughly to those punters at the low end of the
financial spectrum as well as those with bigger bankrolls.
Great Blue features an Auto-Spin mechanism, so that you need not
click a button over and over again to play. The graphics are just
decent, with images of fish on the reels of a plain, blue
background. The Killer Whale (orca) symbol is wild, and doubled the
payout of any symbol it completes. The oyster with a pearl inside is
the scatter symbol. Get at least three of these to win eight free
spins at a double multiplier! Find even more oyster shells to win as
many as thirty-three spins at a FIFTEEN times multiplier! The
maximum payout for this slot game is a staggering quarter million
dollars.
