Slot Review: Prince
of Sherwood
The legend of Robin Hood and his merry men is one
of the most beloved in the English language. Robin Hood, of course,
is the famed brigand who robbed from the rich to give to the poor
during the reign of Richard II, the “phony king of England.” Robin
Hood was a crack-shot archer who cavorted in Sherwood Forest with
his cohorts and wooed the fair and gentle Maid Marian. His story has
been told in countless children’s books and movie adaptations, most
famously Prince of Thieves and the Disney animated classic that
depicted this knight errant as a fox. Prince of Sherwood is a slot
game that lacks the intrigue and excitement of these versions, but
has some merits of its own.
Prince of Sherwood is a five-reel, twenty-payline online slot
machine game from Real Time Gaming. Coin values start at one cent
and go up to five dollars, with the max coins set at twenty – one
coin per payline allowed, for a max bet of one hundred dollars per
spin. Big spenders can make that wager for a shot at a twenty-five
thousand dollar jackpot – five thousand coins. There is a random,
progressive jackpot that can be won on any spin, regardless of the
outcome. The best part about this fortune is that you don’t have to
steal from anyone to get it!
Letters and numbers marked by arrows are the primary symbols on the
reels, along with a sack of gold, a bow and arrow, and an evil
soldier wearing a full suit of armor. The graphics were pretty
amateurish, and we would have linked to see some of the other
characters from Robin Hood’s story make it to the reels – folks like
Will Scarlett, Little John, and Friar Tuck.
