Slot Review: Quest
of Kings
You’ve heard of medieval legends – fabled tales
passed down through the ages, full of romance, action, courtly
intrigue, and chivalry. Unfortunately, Quest of Kings is a slot game
unworthy of its genre. Is a boatload of cash worth playing an online
slot that is shoddily designed, jerky, and unequivocally boring? The
choice is yours, but we bet you can guess our answer by the
description so far! The “quest” of the title is a monarch’s pursuit
of a beautiful, beloved princess… who looks strangely like the pop
singer Mariah Carey. All in all, this is a very odd title.
Quest of Kings is a five-reel, twenty-five payline online slot
machine game by Cryptologic, from whom we really expect better. Coin
values range from one cent to twenty dollars. The max coins value of
twenty dollars means that there truly is a massive spread of
potential bets, making the wagers on this pokey acceptable to the
tightest budgets and the spendiest high-rollers. There is an eight
thousand coin jackpot, which tops out at one hundred sixty thousand
dollars, if you have the wherewithal and desire to spend five
hundred dollars a spin on this game.
That’s where the good news ends, however. Expect a LOT of
letter/number symbols on the reels, and not too many pictures – and
the ones that are there aren’t particularly impressive. There’s the
king, his lady, a sword, a scroll, a crown, and a rose. There’s a
gender-swapping knight in the bonus game, and we didn’t quite get
what was going on there, either.
