Slot Review:
Opulence
Be warned, readers – we are about to get on our
fabled high horse again. There are few things that we dislike in an
online slot game as much as racist and/or stereotypical caricatures
of different ethnic groups, and we seem to have hit upon another
example of this not-so-charming species. Opulence, like the title
suggests, is a slot game entirely having to do with riches. In this
case, the riches belong to a group of Middle Eastern gentlemen, who
are portrayed in an unflattering light by the cheesy graphics of
this game, Wizard Gaming is definitely a lesser-known casino
software provider, and we don’t really imagine them competing with
Microgaming, Cryptologic and their ilk any time in the near future
if this is the best they can turn out!
Opulence is a five-reel, fifteen payline online slot machine game.
There is a fixed coin size of five cents (one nickel), with the
possibility to bet as much as ten coins per payline making the max
coin size one hundred fifty coins. That’s seven dollars and fifty
cents per spin, which is pretty reasonable. There is a progressive
jackpot.
A fat, cigar-chomping gentleman shares reel space with a mustachioed
sheik in a turban and an evil-looking, aubergine-nosed man in a head
veil. There are also images of luxury cars and boats, plus a
bizarrely-placed armadillo and a set of bagpipes that are the wild
and scatter symbols. The images are pretty crude, and don’t really
make us want to play this slot game again.
