Slot Review: The
Sub-Mariner
Nowadays, The Sub-Mariner is one of the most
esoteric Marvel superheroes. Given most fans’ lack of familiarity
with him, it might interest you to know that the man otherwise known
as Namor was one of the very first Marvel creations, appearing on
the scene in 1939. Namor is the king of the lost city of Atlantis,
and is possessed of superhuman strength and aquatic abilities. In
modern days, he has been recast as one of the great comic book
anti-heroes, with a great sense of rage and vengeance against the
humans that have hurt his people and his kingdom. The slot machine
dedicated to him is a late addition to the popular line of
Cryptologic superhero online slots.
The Sub-Mariner is a five-reel, twenty-five payline online slot
machine game. Coin values start at one cent and range up to five
dollars. Max coins is set at twenty-five, so the maximum per-wager
bet is one hundred twenty-five dollars per spin. By itself, The
Sub-Mariner has a five thousand coin jackpot (for a max of
twenty-five thousand dollars), but it is a part of the Marvel
Superhero progressive jackpot network, which can be hit on any spin!
The background of this game is the swirling waters of Atlantic.
Symbols on the reels support the theme strongly, and include: sea
monsters, an anchor, a necklace of shark’s teeth belonging to The
Sub-Mariner, and diving equipment. There are several great
animations as well. With wilds, scatters, bonuses, and free spins
aplenty, this game will delight even non-fans of the comic book.
