Slot Review:
Hillbillies
Non-American online slot players may be a little
confused by Hillbillies. We’re not sure how well this Yank cultural
stereotype translates internationally, much like the British
conception of a “chav.” Hillbillies are also known as rednecks,
country bumpkins, or poor whites. The term refers to hicks who
generally live in rural areas, maintain a strong naïveté or even
ignorance of worldly affairs, speak with a strong Southern accent,
and are considered to be uneducated. It’s not a nice stereotype, but
it sure is a funny one. If nothing else, the Hillbillies online slot
game will probably keep you chuckling.
Hillbillies is a five-reel, twenty-payline online slot game by Real
Time Gaming. Coin values start at one cent and range up to five
dollars, with the max coin value of twenty (one per payline) making
the maximum per-spin wager one of one hundred dollars. The jackpot
is five thousand coins, or twenty-five thousand dollars maximum.
There is a free practice mode for those who would like to try this
game out before committing part of their bankroll on a wager!
Moonshine, a tin-roofed shack, and a morose-looking pooch are all
featured on the reels of this slot game. The graphics are sub-par,
but we’re willing to bet that most players can forgive this because
of the random, progressive jackpot that can be won on any spin. With
wilds, scatters, multipliers, and free spins, Hillbillies is a more
sophisticated pokey than it originally appears to be. That’s not
unsurprising, given the title of the game!
