Slot Review: The
Last King of Egypt
It may have been thousands of years since the
sands settled over the last vestiges of the ancient Egyptian empire,
but our contemporary fascination with the age of pharaohs,
Cleopatra, the Sphinx, and pyramids knows no limits. Maybe because
The Luxor (with its miniature version of those last two) is one of
the best-known casino resorts on the Las Vegas Strip and has been
for years, the Egyptian theme is one that is particularly
well-represented in the world of online slot machine games. The Last
King of Egypt is the most recent of these species that we’ve
reviewed, but by no means the best.
The Last King of Egypt is a five-reel, twenty-five payline online
slot by Vegas Technology. Coin values start at one cent and range up
to ten dollars, with max coins of twenty-five allowing players to
gamble as much as two hundred fifty dollars per spin. You’ll need to
go for the gusto and place that max bet to have a shot at the HUGE
ninety thousand dollar jackpot. As far as that is concerned, this
“King” is pretty impressive.
Our only quarrel with this online slot title is that others have
done it much better this one. The graphics consist of vaguely
Egyptian symbols on a muted background looking like an ancient brick
wall, but the colors are too bright and gaudy to suit the theme.
There are wilds, scatters, and free spins. Taken for its own merits,
The Last King of Egypt is a very solid and playable online slot game
– it just does a disservice to the ancient Egyptian theme.
