Slot Review: Eastern
Dragon
Enter the dragon! Eastern Dragon is an understated
and tasteful online slot offering by Vegas Technology. As
“understated” and “tasteful” are not too adjectives that we normally
use in association with slot titles, this game was a welcome respite
indeed. Those who enjoy the very popular Asian/Oriental theme in
their slot gaming but are sick of the normal, in-your-face barrage
of cherry blossoms, geisha, ninjas, and pagodas will gravitate
naturally to this title. Granted, those who like to make money
probably won’t dislike it, either!
Eastern Dragon is a five-reel, twenty-payline online slot machine
title. Coin values start at one cent and range upwards to ten
dollars, with max coins of twenty making the highest per-spin wager
one of two hundred dollars, with one coin bet per payline. The
jackpot is three thousand coins. That’s a very respectable prize,
especially when one considers that, on a maxed-out bet, the jackpot
is thirty thousand dollars! Software provider Cryptologic also
offers the Eastern Dragon title, with slightly different bonus
features. That makes this game very unique.
The reels of Eastern Dragon are set on a black background, with
crimson lanterns framing the action. Firecrackers, paper lanterns,
and koi appear on the reels, along with letters and numbers in a
simple shade of gold. The dragon appears on reels one and five only,
and is the wild symbol. It doubles the payout of any combination it
completes. Additionally, if the dragon appears on reels one and five
at the same time, you win fifteen free spins during which all wins
are tripled.
