Gamblers Prefer To
Keep Feet On Dry Land (2 of 2)
Plus, the industry has grown so competitive that
gambling sites are literally throwing freebies, bonuses, and perks
at players to gain and keep their patronage: extravagant deposit
matching, weekly lotteries and giveaways, and frequent tournaments
with huge prizes and small or no buy-in. That’s not to mention the
fact that the video slot machines and poker/blackjack/roulette/Bingo
titles are flashier, more fun, and much more advanced than any but
the most spendy land casinos can match. Gamblers can experience the
full breadth and variety of every casino diversion known to man
without moving from their couch. When you consider these factors,
it’s not hard to see why cruise ships are struggling!
Cruise ship owners are faced with a really difficult challenge: how
to get people off their computers and back out to sea. Some have, in
desperation, offered coupons for a certain amount of free tokens, or
gratis dinner or drinks. In the state of Florida, however, these
disenfranchised boaters are really stepping up their game. The
offshore slot machine and casino gambling business is HUGE in the
Sunshine State, and the once-wealthy owners of these ventures are
pushing state lawmakers to change the rules prohibiting citizens
from gambling on a ship in port. Even if the state caves, it’s hard
to tell whether this legislative change would have a significant
impact on the tide of change sweeping away a once-flourishing venue
for gambling. There are those who believe that cruise ship gambling
will soon be extinct, regardless of legal machinations. As online
slots and casino gambling grow, many other sectors of the gambling
industry will undoubtedly be watching closely to see if they could
be the next in trouble.
