Slot Review: The Gee Gees
Ah-ah-ah-ah,
stayin’ alive! The Seventies were the time of disco fever, and
nobody rocked the age like the Bee Gees. The Gibb brothers were some
cool dudes with their perms, bell-bottoms, platform shoes, and
aviator sunglasses. Their musical hits like “Staying Alive” and “If
I Can’t Have You” kept a generation rocking, and are still beloved
today. The Gee Gees are pretty much a ripoff of the original band,
but we guess they do say that imitation is the sincerest form of
flattery. A trio of horses dressed in leisure suits are the lead
characters in this Microgaming slot, which makes up for a lack of
originality with the opportunity to win some extremely groovy cash.
The Gee Gees is a three-reel, single payline online slot machine
title. Coin values start at ten cents and range upwards to ten
dollars. There is only a single coin playable on any given spin,
which is good for those players who don’t like to fork over a
fortune when playing the slots. The jackpot is an astounding two
thousand coins. Do the math – that’s two hundred thousand dollars on
a maximum bet. Even if the theming is not your thing, you can’t help
but to play this one!
This game is very much in the style of a classic slot, which is
apropos for the retro theming. The icons are those typical of this
style, including cherries, lucky sevens, horseshoes, and BAR
symbols. There is a cash ladder that keeps some excitement in the
game, as well as other features typical of fruit machines like
nudges and holds.
