Slot Review: Sand Storm
Sand Storm is
a fairly ugly slot machine title. It’s also one that can potentially
win you a lot of money. You understand, of course, that this puts us
in a difficult situation. On one hand – racist stereotyping ahoy! On
the other hand, huge jackpot. We are collectively of the type that
don’t judge a pokey on the merits of prizes alone, but we understand
that definitely makes a huge difference in what titles you decide to
play as a punter. With that said, we’ll tell you that we didn’t like
this game much at all. Sand Storm is based on the premise of
travelling through the desert on the back of a camel. A Middle
Eastern gentleman scowling in a turban is an unfortunate caricature,
and was a bad move on Microgaming’s part.
Sand Storm is a three-reel, three-payline online slot machine game.
Coin values start at twenty-five cents and range upwards to twenty
dollars. Max coins is set at three, or one per payline. That makes
the highest per-spin wager one of sixty dollars. The jackpot is four
thousand coins. If you are maxing out your bets and playing coin
values of twenty bucks on each payline, that’s an eighty thousand
dollar jackpot.
The camel – who bears more than a passing resemblance to Joe Camel,
in our opinion – is the jackpot symbol. Get three of these thematic
animal icons on the third payline to win the biggest prize. There
also images of the lucky number seven, and single/double/triple BAR
symbols.
