Vegas Odds Are On Lambert

It’s rare that we venture away from our world of online slots, but every now and then we do check out what else is going on at our favorite internet casinos. Sports betting isn’t really our thing, but we were fascinated to know that some major gambling sites like Bodog also offer betting on other forms of entertainment – television reality shows! You could have knocked us over with a feather when we discovered that it was possible to bet on who would win one of our favorite guilty pleasure TV shows, American Idol.

Picking the winner of a television show is a bit more skill-based than playing a slot machine, but equally entertaining. Right now, the odds makers in Vegas are overwhelmingly predicting former Broadway understudy Adam Lambert to sashay off with the title of the eighth American Idol. Lambert’s flamboyant, glam-rock style has won him no small legion of enthusiastic fans, as well as rave reviews from the judges. His cover of Tears For Fears’ “Mad World” even had the notoriously hard-to-please Simon Cowell on his feet to give Lambert a heartfelt standing ovation. The recent widower Danny Gokey is the only contestant who might give Lambert a run for his money (and yours!), but the experts have him finishing at a distant second place at the moment.

There are just five contestants left on American Idol, with one additional singer scheduled to go home tonight following last night’s “Big Band” themed performance show. Even if taking bets on TV shows is not your thing, it might give you something to watch as you spin the reels of your favorite online slot game tonight!
