Out Like a Lamb
March Madness
is officially over. They say that the month comes in like a lion and
out like a lamb, which is a reference to the weather – the end of
winter, and the balmy beginnings of springtime. For gamblers, the
zoological comparisons probably depend on how lucky or accurate you
were during one of the busiest months on the calendar for online
slots and sports betting. The most-recognized means of playing one’s
luck during the third month is by way of drawing up brackets for the
NCAA college basketball tournament and watching the TV anxiously to
see if your favorites win. The other is via online slot machine
tournaments, which are increasingly prominent during this time.
Golden Casino held its March Madness tournament throughout the
month, and the Jackpot Factory additionally held a tourney that was
themed around that idea. March is quickly becoming the de facto time
of year for online slots competitions, to coincide with all the
sports betting action. Slots tournaments are a rare opportunity for
punters to match their luck against their peers, and win large sums
of money.
Sports betting is an interesting phenomenon in the United States,
where the practice remains technically illegal. The U.S. Department
of Justice is apt to look the other way, especially during March
when flouting of national gambling laws is so widespread, and every
significant employer seems to have a betting pool going on.
Undoubtedly the government is breathing a sigh of relief with the
end of March Madness.
