Quebec Town to Get
Slots
The resort town of Mont Tremblant, Quebec was
electrified by the unveiling of plans to construct a slot machine
resort within city limits. The residents of this Canadian city are
apparently elated at the news that a slots casino will open by
summer of next year. It was reported recently by the Canadian media
that Mont Tremblant officials had gathered to hash out the specific
details of the slot casino’s building, and discuss the current
status of the project and where it is headed.
Mont Tremblant is already a mecca for both domestic and
international tourists. The town is named after the mountain it
surrounds. Mont Tremblant is a famous ski destination that also
offers golfing and beautiful lake swimming during the more clement
months. The slot machine casino is to be constructed on the
mountain’s southern slope. Right now, the plan is to install some
four hundred slot devices in the casino, along with a quintet of
video poker machines and a full twenty gaming tables. The Mont
Tremblan slot casino will also feature a VIP lounge designed to fete
high rollers.
City officials are delighted at the economic prospects the casino
offers: around fifty million dollars a year in revenue, thanks to an
estimated seven hundred thousand annual visitors. The meeting to
discuss the slot machine casino actually had to be rescheduled from
an earlier date, for an ironic reason: an unlucky gambler at nearby
Montréal’s Île Notre Dame casino had committed suicide over the loss
of a large sum of money.
