Better Slot Wins For
Sleepyheads?
Recently, gambling expert John Robison fielded a
question about whether a good night’s sleep could potentially help
one win big on one’s slot machine of choice. Robison is the author
of a syndicated column that appears in several American newspapers
and on a handful of the choicest gambling sites on the World Wide
Web. This particular letter was penned by reader “Sail,” the same
loyal reader who asked if horoscopes could accurately forecast big
casino wins.
This question actually isn’t as ludicrous as the one related to star
signs, because there is more than a bit of the hint of truth to it.
Granted, a full eight hours of shut-eye on the comfiest mattress in
the most quiet and dark room in the world would no more effectively
impact one’s slot performance than a lucky charm, a picture of a
loved one on the pokey, or – dare we say it – a promising star
chart! We all have our little superstitions, but the key thing is to
not get carried away in them. A firm grasp on reality is probably a
gambler’s best friend.
But that’s not to say that a good night’s rest cannot help your slot
game performance. A calm and energetic player will undoubtedly enjoy
their gambling experience more, and handle their losses more
gracefully. If someone is playing a poker-based slot game, staying
unstressed and attentive will help them accurately identify
potential winning combinations, and decide whether to hold or
continue betting. That’s about all a good night’s sleep can be
counted on for, however – it’s not going to win a jackpot for you,
sleepyhead!
