The Difference
Between Reel and Video Slots
If you are a big fan of playing the slot machines,
it probably has not escaped your notice that there are two different
types of pokies out there. Basically, you have your video slot
games, and your reel slot games. This distinction only applies to
fruit machines located in land-based casinos, of course… all online
slot machines on the World Wide Web are video slots! Although these
two unique types of games have their differences, you can bet that
both are designed to be fun and exciting to play.
Reel slot machines are the original types of these popular and
famous gambling devices. They feature three or five spinning wheels,
with a variety of different symbols on them. When you activate a
slot game, either by pulling a lever or pressing a button, you start
the reels spinning. When they stop, the combination of symbols that
has stopped on the payline is your result. Certain outcomes are
winners, and may result in you winning a jackpot. If a game has
actual, physical spinning reels, you have found a reel slot.
If, however, the slot device has only the simulated image of reels
spinning featured, you have found yourself a video slot. These are
so called because they feature –what else?- a video screen. Of
course, an image of spinning reels is not the only thing that can be
shown on the LCD feature of a video slot machine. This screen can
also display “second screen” bonus features and oher novel pictures
designed to enhance your gameplay.
