Struggling Casinos
Turn to Penny Slots
Land casinos are having a tough time coping with
the current state of the U.S. economy. Money is tight, and gamblers
aren’t exactly splashing out. Even Vegas is reporting losses in
terms of their slot machine income, which tells us a lot about how
poorly casinos are doing in other states. Casinos have come up with
a variety of tactics to try and combat lagging player attendance and
spending, including promotions linked to their online outlets and
giveaways ranging from lavish vacation sweepstakes to free drinks
and deposit-matching.
Two tribal-owned casinos in the Northeast are trying something else.
Both the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos have been scheming to try
and boost their revenues, and have determined that penny slots could
be the answer. The two gambling establishments have both brought in
many more slot machines that carry a minimum bet of just one cent.
Penny slots have long attracted elderly slots fans, but casino
owners are increasingly finding that these cheap games are appealing
to pretty much everyone these days!
The appeal of the penny slot machines is pretty obvious. Players can
really savor their playing experience, as they can make almost any
amount of money last a really long time! Even nickel slots cost five
times more than these humble devices. One whole dollar could last a
full one hundred spins, assuming you don’t take advantage of any
multipliers!
Penny slot games are a fun and cheap form of entertainment for folks
who may not have very much money and want to experience a good time
without spending a fortune. These casinos have obviously felt for
the pulse of today’s gaming fans, and are catering to their desires!
