Online Casinos Throw
Support Behind Obama
The Online casino world is throwing its support
behind Democratic nominee for President of the United States Barack
Obama. The Democrat is a surprising favorite in the world of online
slot machines and other forms of internet-based gambling. Politics,
slot games, and online casinos have not been a sympathetic mix in
recent years, thanks to current U.S. President George W. Bush’s
decisions regarding the industry made while in office, and his
administration’s overall negative attitude towards online slots and
internet gambling sites. The Bush administration was responsible for
the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA), the
atrociously-unpopular piece of law that disallowed American citizens
from gaming at many of the web’s hottest online casino destinations.
Obama, however, has managed to earn the support of slot game sites
and online casino officials – not an easy crowd to win over. Even
fans of Obama may not have known that he is something of a poker
fan. There is no evidence that Obama ever played the online slot
machines, but he is said to have no small amount of skill with the
cards. He apparently began playing poker back in high school with
his friends, after being taught the art of the game by his
grandfather. Word is that Obama turned to recreational poker games
to break up the tedium of the long Legislative sessions.
Obama has earned the support of several key players in the online
casino and slot machine worlds. He is said to have an excellent
poker face and a playing style that is best described as “cautious.”
Undoubtedly, these are excellent skills for any diplomat – even if
we doubt that Obama would have much time for poker play in the Oval
Office!
