Changes At Casino
Arizona
Casino across the United States are facing a
common dilemma. How, exactly, does a gambling establishment go about
tempting players in these troubled economic times? The American
economy is in the tank, and citizens from coast to coast are feeling
the burn. Nobody has nearly as much disposable income as they did
before (except if they work for oil companies!), so everyone is
counting their pennies and being more frugal than before. That’s bad
news for the slot machine and gambling industry, which pretty much
runs off peoples’ disposable income.
What’s the solution? Some of the biggest and most popular casinos in
the nation have all had the same answer: perks, promos, and prizes!
If the allure of gambling by itself is not enough to draw in
players, casinos have decided that they will simply make it almost
irresistible for gamblers to come and visit.
The most hopping casino in Arizona is hoping that plans for a
major-scale expansion will give them a boost. Casino Arizona is in
the midst of converting itself from a mere casino to a gambling
resort, complete with a fifteen story, two hundred forty thousand
square foot expansion of its gaming space, and a hotel with a
luxurious spa on the roof. The project is due to be completed in
2010. This Scottsdale casino claims to get about seven million
guests a year, but wants to become something even bigger than the
most popular gaming destination in Arizona. The chief executive
officer and president of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian
Community-owned casino, Jon Jenkins, explains that the plan is to
market the resort “coast to coast” as a “resort brand.” The existing
casino already houses almost seventeen hundred slot machines, with
one hundred-plus slot games specifically aimed at casino “high
rollers.”
