Incredible Canadian
Jackpot Win!
It’s the kind of story that every gambler
treasures. Man walks into casino, sits down at a slot machine, and
wins millions. For an as-yet unnamed Toronto punter, this was no
fairytale – it was real life! It was reported yesterday that a
one-armed bandit at the Woodbine Racetrack Casino had dropped a
life-changing amount of money on the lap of one fortunate player
Thursday. Provincial gambling laws do not require that casino
winners disclose their name, so we can’t congratulate him in person
– but we’re willing to bet that the four-point-seven MILLION dollar
winner is having a very happy Halloween weekend as we speak!
Casino employees say that the fortunate player sat down at a
Megabucks slot game just before midnight on Thursday. Armed with a
cupful of what Canucks call “loonies” (one dollar coins), the player
began placing bets on the very popular slot machine. Those sitting
in proximity to the gentleman say that the game “went into a
whirlwind of bells and alarms” when the machine gave up its massive
progressive jackpot. OLG spokesman Jim Cronin divulged that it was
very clear that something big was happening!
Cronin spoke on behalf of the Woodbine staff to congratulate the
lucky slot game winner, who he described as just a “regular” guy –
albeit several million dollars richer than he was last week! The
winner took his jackpot in the form of a check written by the
casino. Cronin said that the guy was pretty “shy,” and chose to
leave after winning.
Megabucks is a very popular slot game title which starts at a
jackpot amount of one million dollars, and keeps climbing until
someone strikes it rich!
