AZ Casino Offers
Convenient Play
Arizona has one of the most competitive land
casino markets in the United States. This desert state is a
gambler’s paradise, offering gaming opportunities tailored to
virtually every player’s unique tastes. The Sol Casino group is
secure of its own place within this nearly saturated market,
however. The two establishments owned and operated by the Pascua
Yaqui Indian tribe can offer players something that few others can –
convenience. In these days of sky-high gas prices, it means a lot
when players have the opportunity to partake of the slot games or
other favorite casino diversions without having to make a dedicated
trip that could take a half hour or more. The Casino del Sol and
Casino of the Sun casinos are located on a well-traveled route
towards Tucson, which places these destinations squarely in
gamblers’ radars.
The Sol Casinos Chief Executive Officer is Wendell Long. Long
recounts how the Pascua Yaqui tribe was one of the first Indian
nations in the state to explore the idea of hosting gambling
establishments. The Pascua Yaqui got in on the casino business over
twenty years ago, with a string of “high-stakes bingo halls.” Now,
the tribe’s two casinos have more than thirteen hundred slot
machines between them, with nearly seven hundred bingo chairs,
twenty-four blackjack games, and eighteen poker tables. While the
casinos’ two names mean the same thing in two different languages,
Casino del Sol is considered the classier and more upscale of the
two, with a provincial Italian décor and theming.
Gambling is only one of the Sol Casino group’s attractions. The
Pascua Yaquis also run the Anselmo Valencia Torre Amphitheater,
situated between the two casinos. The amphitheater has five thousand
seats and has attracted several big-name musical acts.
