Neteller Gets a
Makeover
Undoubtedly hoping to shed some of the scandals
that have plagued it in the past, ubiquitous payment processor
Neteller is giving itself a facelift, complete with a totally new
name. To those familiar with the often soap opera-esque world of
American online slot machine and casino gambling, Neteller has
something of an infamous reputation. The company incurred the wrath
of the US Department of Justice last year in the wake of the
Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act being passed. The scuffle
almost bankrupted Neteller, and cast an injurious tarnish on its
image in the international arena. It’s not really a surprise that
Neteller is seeing to distance itself from the troubles of recent
months as it moves on to a new future in the European market.
From here on out, Neteller will be known as Neovia Financial. Neovia
will carry an entire new brand image for the payment processor.
Neovia is already starting to offer a line of unique and highly
desirable payment processing services to online slot machine and
casino gambling sites in the United Kingdom. These new services are
still very new, so the time is completely ripe for Neteller/Neovia
to undertake the re-branding project and completely change its
profile.
Neteller is banking (literally!) on the Asian and European gambling
markets as its most viable new revenue sources. Online gambling is
thriving and industry legislation is (still) relatively permissive
in these areas. Neovia will face a wide range of competition in
these areas, but its representatives are confident that the company
will again rise to the top, as it did in its days of American
prominence!
