Slot Review: Secret
Garden
Francis Hodgson Burnett’s The Secret Garden is one
of the best-loved stories in contemporary children’s literature.
This enchanting story of Mary, a sickly and unloved little girl who
unlocks a walled garden inside an English manor has been turned into
a beautiful online slot game by casino software company Rival.
Secret Garden is one of the best-looking slot machine titles we have
played, and we think that you will also enjoy it.
Secret Garden sports five reels and twenty paylines. Coin values
range from one cent to twenty-five cents, with max coins of two
hundred. The five thousand coin jackpot is tiny, but that also means
that it hits often. The reels of this game are filled with large
pictures of Mary, her friends Dickons and Colin, gardening
implements, birds, rabbits, flowers, the key to the secret garden,
and gates. The actual slot game takes up the majority of the screen.
The only disadvantage to this design is that the actual pay table
cannot be seen at all times, and you must click on it to access this
information. Lighthearted music is playing while you gamble, so that
also adds to the comprehensive “feeling” of this game.
The bird icon is wild, and can stand in for any other symbols on the
reels in a winning combination. The key to the garden is the scatter
symbol. Get three of these to trigger twenty free bonus spins. Four
keys will win you forty free spins, and five will get you fifty. All
of these multiply any winnings by double! Three or more keys will
also take you to the Explore the Secret Garden bonus game.
