Slot Review: Captain
Cash
In our opinion, the Captain Cash online slot game
has very little to recommend itself. If we’ve ever stumbled across
the very definition of a “disposable” internet pokey, this would
probably be listed as a prime example. Two seconds after we finished
playing this title, we had already forgotten about it. It’s hard to
tell exactly what’s the back story of Captain Cash, who is depicted
as like an amusement park caricature of a boat skipper with a
cocktail in hand. A lack of theming and detail is one of our biggest
gripes with this title from Microgaming, who really is capable of
better.
Pretty much the only attractive aspect of Captain Cash is its
massive jackpot. Assuming the highest coin value of twenty dollars
(the lowest being twenty-five cents), the top prize is one hundred
thousand bucks… that’s really good for a non-progressive jackpot.
Otherwise, this three-reel, five-payline punter is completely
unexceptional, almost to the point of mediocrity. Icons on the reels
are the number seven, single, double, and triple BAR icons, the
Captain Cash logo, and (inexplicably), a chef. We have no idea who
this chef is, or what he has to do with the theme or story, but he’s
also the wild symbol, and can stand in for any other icon on the
reel in a winning combination.
We’re hard-pressed to recommend a trip with this Captain to anyone,
really. There are a plethora of online slots that offer either
higher or lower bets and more substantial jackpots, with much more
attention to graphics, a comprehensive feel to the game, and nice
extras players enjoy. This Captain can walk the plank!
