Slot Review: 1 Armed
Bandit
You have probably heard slot machines referred to
as “one-armed bandits” before. Given these devices’ reputation for
making off with folks’ money like a thief in the night, the
comparison is not exactly untrue! Old-fashioned fruit machines had
just one “arm” – the lever that you pulled to start the game! It’s
only appropriate that someone finally created an online slot game
called the “1 Armed Bandit!” Casino software giant Microgaming
developed this title, which has a Western theme. (We don’t know if
the sneering cowboy depicted has one arm or two, by the way.)
This three-reel, three-payline punter is pretty simple. The only
images on the reels are icons of the number seven, the bandit’s
face, and single, double, and triple bullets with BAR on them. You
may bet from twenty-five cents to five dollars a coin on 1 Armed
Bandit, with top coin size of three. This online slot game has a
modest jackpot of four thousand coins (twenty thousand dollars). You
have to hit three bandits in a row to score this top prize. If you
hit any winning combination, you’ll hear the sound of bullets
whizzing through the air!
Beginners to the world of online slots gaming are most likely to
enjoy this title, which lacks many of the bells and whistles enjoyed
by more seasoned players. A fairly low jackpot and a lack of betting
options for either high rollers or those who prefer penny and nickel
wagers, combined with so-so theming and presentation means that we
would have to rate this title squarely in the middle of the pack.
