Slot Review: Sumo
Pretty much everyone knows what a sumo wrestler
is, even if they have never seen a real one! The image of the fat
guys in diapers beating one another up has become a humorous symbol
of Japanese culture, yet very little is actually known about these
athletes in the Western world. They probably won’t learn much from
Sumo, a solidly middle-of-the-road online slot offering from
software provider Vegas Technology. Sporting uninspiring graphics, a
weak jackpot, and unexceptional extras, it’s unlikely that Sumo will
knock you over with delight.
Sumo is a five-reel, twenty-five payline online slot game. Coin
values range from one cent to five dollars. Max coins is set at
twenty-five. The top bet of one hundred twenty-five dollars a spin
will undoubtedly appeal to high rollers. The title packs a
non-progressive jackpot of just twenty-five thousand dollars
(assuming a five coin bet), or fifty thousand dollars after bonuses.
This online slot title is filled with images of sumo wrestlers,
geisha, trophies, and other vaguely Asian symbols. These all look a
bit amateur, like the game designers simply did not care about the
looks of the game. A percussion-based tune accompanies the gameplay.
The sumo wrestler himself is the wild symbol. It can complete any
winning combination in the place of another image. The trophy is the
scatter symbol. Collect at least three of these to activate the
Bonus Round. You will be presented with nine trophies and given the
chance to knock some over. A bonus amount will be underneath. These
amounts are added up at the end for the full amount of your bonus
game prize.
