Slot Review: Five
Dollar Shake
We’re a little offended by the Five Dollar Shake
online slot game by Playtech. For years now, we’ve managed to get by
playing slot machine titles (both internet and land-based) with
many, many paylines without having those lines drawn on the screen.
We’ve even taken a crack at a one-hundred line punter and somehow
gotten by without the casino equivalent of training wheels hampering
our experience. Yet, Playtech has seen fit to obscure the video
reels of this five-reel, five-payline game with thick, white marks
indicating the paylines. We personally feel that, if you can’t keep
up with five slot game paylines, you probably shouldn’t be playing!
Five Dollar Shake, appropriately, allows you to play coin values up
to five dollars. If you play this title, it is worth it to bet the
maximum five coins. The jackpot prize for playing the most coins is
five times as high as for a four coin bet. The jackpot is a paltry
two thousand coins, or ten thousand dollars, however, so we’re not
sure how hard anyone is going to vie for this particular prize. We
aren’t fans of this design of online slot games, which are styled to
look like you are playing an actual slot machine. There is too much
of the screen taken up by nonsense. The images on the reels are tiny
and generic. They are the classic fruit icons, and the jackpot
symbol appears to be a mixed drink in a martini glass. Maybe this is
the five dollar shake of the title? We’re honestly not interested
enough to find out.
