Holiday Slot Review:
Party Line
Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and never
brought to mind? We’re not too sure about the answer to that one,
but we can safely say that we wouldn’t mind forgetting this “Party
Line.” The basic three-reel, one-payline online slot game from
Playtech has a New Year’s Eve theme, but we’re getting that you are
more likely to experience the fizzles rather than fireworks after a
few spins with this dud. New Year’s Eve is celebrated as one of the
biggest parties around the world. As 12:00 a.m. marks the shift from
December 31 to January 1 and one year to the next, we reflect on all
our experiences in the past twelve months, and all of our hopes for
the next twelve. Unfortunately, we think that the only thing Party
Line upon which will have you reflecting is how a slot machine so
garishly colored can be so dull and unmemorable!
Party Line features coin values ranging from five cents to five
dollars, with max coins of three. The top jackpot is four thousand
coins, or twenty thousand dollars. That prize is a bit higher than
those offered by other holiday-themed slot games we’ve reviewed, but
not enticing enough to make up for this game’s shortcomings. We
dislike the style of this game, which has been replicated in several
other Playtech titles. The decision to make the online slot game
screen look like a “real life” gaming terminal ultimately means that
the pay table, buttons, and icons are teeny-tiny and lacking detail.
In our opinion, the best internet punters use big, bold design and
features for maximum ease of play and visual impact.
This title is a basic 3/1 game, so there are no “extras” like wild
symbols, scatters, free spins, or bonuses.
