Oddest Slot Yet?
We hear about plenty of bizarre slot machines here
at SlotsData. In our quest to bring you the very best of online
casino action, we have come across pokies that have simply baffled
us. From crazy themes to convoluted play structures to cracked-out
animations, we pretty much thought that we had seen it all… until we
heard about the forthcoming online slot that may as well be titled
Japan’s Most Wanted.
The Japanese software provider Famista announced earlier this week
that it was putting the finishing touches on a free online slot
title that would aid law enforcement by filling the reels with mug
shots of some of the Asian nation’s most-wanted criminals. Pachinko
slot machines are all the rage in Japan, and Famista is hoping to
capitalize on that trend with the game. Just like in a normal fruit
machine, players will try to line up identical pictures. The only
difference is that no money will be won or lost. The only prize for
matching up pictures of Japanese criminals will be “detailed
information” on the person and contact information for local
officials in the event that someone wants to leave a tip.
Famista publicist Takashi Saito explained that suspect information
has long been available on the World Wide Web in Japan, but citizens
don’t necessarily pay much attention to these sites. By taking this
essential information and marrying it to entertainment, Famista
hopes to make a significant difference in the police forces’ rate of
apprehending wanted criminals. We never figured that online slot
play could be construed as a form of crime-fighting, but you learn
something new every day!
