Slot Review: Farming
Fortunes
Those who are frequent readers of our slot reviews
here at Slots Data will have marked by now that we are some sort of
snobs when it comes to the graphics and look of the slot games we
play and review. We’ve issued some pretty scathing put-downs of
online slots for poor game design, bizarre choice of images, and
hideous color schemes (in addition to other critical factors like
playability, jackpot size, and enjoyment, of course!). With that
said, it must be stated that Farming Fortunes is a truly HIDEOUS
fruit machine. This seven-reel, nine-payline atrocity from Vegas
Technology is an experiment in increased amount of reels that went
terribly wrong.
Having never played a seven-reel online slot before, we are now
confident that we know why game designers elect not to go with this
unusual number of reels – it is confusing! There is simply too much
to look at. Having seven reels did not allow the game designers to
utilize more paylines, so opting for this configuration makes little
sense. And, in terms of Farming Fortunes, the too much that we are
given to look at is ugly as proverbial sin. The leering livestock
depicted on the reels are almost demonic in appearance… and there’s
SO MANY of them!
This game features a top jackpot of twenty-five thousand coins, with
a top wager of ninety dollars a spin. This online slot pays out for
combinations of anywhere from three to seven of the farm animal in
question. We hate to be shallow, but we just couldn’t get past our
first impressions of this game. It’s clearly a case of judging a
book by its cover, but we’ll live with it.
