Slot Review:
Aladdin’s Lamp
We’re willing to bet that most people are at least
peripherally familiar with the story of Aladdin. This “street rat”
from the bad side of his Arabian town happens upon a lamp with a
genie inside. The genie grants him three wishes, and changes his
life forever. Aladdin gained some major name recognition value with
the Disney movie named after him. Featuring famous comedian Robin
Williams as the voice of the benevolent Genie, this movie was a
sanitized version of the much-grittier original tale. The Aladdin’s
Lamp online slot game from Cryptologic doesn’t have the charm of the
animated musical, nor the exotic thrill of the source material. With
a puny jackpot, sub-par graphics, and a definite lack of things that
make one want to replay this slot game over and over, we’re not sure
how many folks will consider their wishes granted.
Aladdin’s Lamp is a five-reel, five-payline slot game. Coin values
range from one penny to one dollar. Max coins is set at five. The
jackpot is only five thousand coins, which means that, given the
best case scenario, you’re only walking away with five thousand
bucks. We’re not against titles that offer only small top prizes in
exchange for frequent hits, but the other detractors from Aladdin’s
Lamp tarnished our overall opinion.
The genie, a magic carpet, a snake, and some items of treasure
appear on the reels. If you collect several icons of the genie, you
will be taken to a bonus game in which you can pick from several
lamps surrounding a snake charmer in the hopes that it will contain
a large bonus amount.
