Slot Review: Wolf
Run
Wolf Run will appeal to those who really like
lupines, but we’re not sure how many other folks will want to take
this online slot out for more than a few spins. Wolves have long
been esteemed as creatures with a mystical presence, as well as
totem animals for many different creatures. They are certainly noble
and graceful, so it’s a pity that this Wager Works slot machine
doesn’t really correspond! Wolf Run has a vague Native American
theme and some pretty amateur graphics. The itty-bitty jackpot
probably won’t inspire too many rabid fans, either.
Wolf Run is a five-reel, forty-payline online slot
game. It was Wager Works’ first forty-line offering, and remains one
of just a handful that are available on the World Wide Web. Coin
Values range from one cent to five dollars, with max coins set at
five. There is a jackpot of just two hundred fifty coins, which
pretty much is one of the lowest we’ve ever seen. Assuming a
maxed-out bet (twenty-five dollars), the highest prize is only one
thousand bucks.
You’ll see white and black wolves on the reels,
along with letters and numbers. There are animations of these wild
beasts, and you will occasionally hear them roaring in the
background. The howling wolf is the wild symbol, and the “Bonus”
scatter symbol could lead to free spins and the chance to play a
bonus game. Overall, this game ranks pretty low on excitement.
Barring a small contingency of those who are really into games
themed on the basis of wildlife, we can’t image that Wolf Run will
have much of an audience.
