Slot Review: Mark of
Medusa
Of all the Greek legends, which
tend to be high in gore and violence anyway, few have as much power
to captivate and terrify as that of Medusa. This Gorgon monster
lived in the underworld. She had the face of a beautiful maiden, but
hair of coiled snaked. Apparently, she was so frightening that all
who gazed upon her would be cursed by turning into stone. Medusa
killed hundreds of men, before the hero Perseus thought to attack
her with an invisibility cloak and a mirror and cut her head off.
The Mark of Medusa online slot game by Microgaming is a tribute to
this grotesque legend, albeit with a lot less blood and guts.
Mark of Medusa is a five-reel,
twenty-five payline online slot machine title. Coin values range
from one cent to twenty-five cents, with max coins set at five
hundred. The jackpot is ten thousand coins, or twenty-five hundred
dollars on a max bet. You must bet the max coins to have a shot at
the top prize. There is also a free practice mode for those who like
to sample their slots before parting with their bankroll!
Letters and numbers take up a
large majority of the reels, but you will also see other
Greek-inspired sights on the reels (which are set in what looks like
the ruins of a temple). There is Medusa, whose eyes flash green when
she is in action. You will see Perseus in his helmet, and some Greek
vases as well. Medusa is the wild symbol, and Pegasus (the winged
horse who sprung from the stump of Medusa’s severed head) is the
scatter. If three of these show up on the reels, you will win
fifteen free spins, during which all winnings are tripled!
