Slot Review: Dad’s
Day In
We will hope for the sake of
Cryptologic that there aren’t too many stay-at-home Dads among their
player base. Dad’s Day In was undoubtedly supposed to be a cute and
irreverent bit of fluff, a retro sitcom for the online casino crowd.
We thought that it was actually pretty offensive to the hard-working
men out there who are the primary caregivers for their children. But
enough with the political correctness. Dad’s Day In is mostly a
slick, lucrative slot machine title that offers enough perks to keep
players’ minds off the concept (Mom is called away unexpectedly,
leaving Dad in charge of the kids and household for the day!)
Dad’s Day In is a five-reel,
thirty-payline online slot. Coin values range from one cent to a
whopping twenty dollars, and max coins is set at thirty. That’s no
joke… you could actually bet six hundred dollars a spin on this
punter! The jackpot is six thousand coins, or one hundred twenty
thousand dollars.
The reels are situated on what
looks like an old-fashioned tube TV set, with retro-cool,
avocado-colored wallpaper in the background. The images on the reels
are pastel depictions of rubber ducks, pacifiers, and teddy bears –
the kinds of things that kids drag around. A vacuum cleaner, a pot
boiling over, a malfunctioning washer machine, and a phone ringing
off the hook represent the troubles Dad faces during what will
probably be the longest day of this life. This game features wild,
scatter, bonus, and multiplier symbols. Hopefully you’ll win enough
money to keep a bit in reserve for a babysitter.
