Slots and Racinos Go Hand in Hand

It seems that wherever there is horse racing these days there are slots. For an industry that many feel is way past its prime and should be allowed to die, new life has been breathed into them in the form of slots. The two concepts go together in a way that many could not have predicted, nor could they know that slots would support racing in a way that would literally change the name of the sport and the way it is perceived.

Gone are the days of going to watch the ponies or puppies run – now some go to watch the races, while others just go to play the slots. In fact, they have now found that they have more people coming to play the slots than they have coming to watch the races. Experts think that it is just a matter of time before all of the tracks have slots.

There was a time when horse racing was king, and was an event to come to – however, those days are over. Now it is an event of slots and gambling, with the horses as an afterthought. However, the slots are essential to keep the horses running, and to keep the purses flowing.

There is a reason for the name change as well, for the idea of racing and casinos coming together as one, warrants one name. Experts think that eventually it will either be racinos or nothing – in the sense that those that don’t have slots will cease to exist. When the slots as savior were first suggested, many thought that the idea would not take off. They said that slots and tracks don’t go together, and any slots players they got would be minimal at best. How wrong they were!
